Yhdistyneet kansakunnat täyttävät 79 vuotta ja Kauppahallin lavalla vietetään YK:n päivää torstaina 24.10.2024 klo 17-19. Kauppahallin lavalla nähdään siintymässä brasilialainen laulaja Nei Zigma!
Nei Zigma esittää alkuperäistä ohjelmistoa, joka perustuu hänen viimeisimpään albumiinsa ”EVOCAÇÃO NEGREIRA” sekä uudelleentulkintoja brasilialaisesta mustasta musiikista. Häntä säestävät Juuso Hannukainen (lyömäsoittimet) ja Markus Holkko (koskettimet ja saksofoni). Musiikissa yhdistyvät jazz, rock, samba, funk ja moderni fuusio.
Suomessa asuva maahanmuuttajataiteilija Nei Zigma sulauttaa ja tulkitsee uudelleen sekä afrobrasilialaisen että suomalaisen perinteen kulttuurivaikutteita. Nämä erilaiset kulttuurisäikeet kietoutuvat yhteen ja tarjoavat uuden näkökulman ja osallistaa yleisön keskusteluun identiteetistä, perinnöstä ja kulttuurisen monimuotoisuuden hyödyistä, juhlien taiteellisen perinnön rikkautta ja edistäen samalla ymmärrystä ja arvostusta yli rajojen.

United Nations turn 79 this year and we are celebrating that on the UN Day in Kauppahalli on Thursday 24.10.2024 17-19. On the stage we will see Brazilian singer Nei Zigma!
Nei Zigma will present a show with original repertoire based on his recent album ”EVOCAÇÃO NEGREIRA”, and reinterpretations of Brazilian Black Music. accompanied byJuuso Hannukainen (percussion & programs) and Markus Holkko (keyboards and saxophone), mixing jazz, rock, samba, funk, and other contemporary fusions and sounds.
Nei Zigma, presents a unique artistic voice that mixes Brazilian cadences with contemporary timbres, revealing the artist’s research and search for their Brazilian Afro-Amerindian roots through poetry and from music. With an artistic vision inspired by the concept of ’Anthropophagy’ in artistic production, which originated during the Brazilian Week of Modern Art in 1922, the artist’s compositions based on this aesthetic movement seek the importance of embracing cultural exchange to create authentic works and a significant artistic expression.
As an immigrant artist residing in Finland (since 2017), the result of his new album assimilates and reinterprets the cultural influences of both Afro-Brazilian and Finnish traditions. By interweaving these diverse cultural strands, their artistic expression offers a new perspective, engaging audiences in discussions about identity, heritage and the benefits of cultural diversity, celebrating the richness of artistic heritage while promoting understanding and appreciation across borders.
