Trendy clothing company New Yorker opens store in Itis
The Helsinki metropolitan area gets its first New Yorker store next spring, when the German retail store concept New Yorker opens a store in Itis shopping centre. New Yorker is one of Europe’s largest fashion businesses.
New Yorker, established in 1971, has almost a thousand stores in 32 countries. The range consists of jeans, sportswear and streetwear for a young, trend-conscious target group, supplemented by accessories and underwear. The garments make a clear fashion statement and reflect the latest trends to a competitive prize. The collection is entirely made up of the company’s own labels.
New Yorker, which is working with franchisees, has seen strong growth in Europe and continuously increased its profits in the last few years. The New Yorker store in Helsinki will cover 900 square meters on two floors, and it will open in early spring 2013.
”We are extremely happy to announce this news since New Yorker has been in our focus for some time now,” Kirsi Feirikki, Shopping Centre Manager, says.
The biggest shopping centre in Scandinavia is currently undergoing a major overhaul and will be completely remodeled by the end of 2014. The investment is worth more than EUR 90 million.
“Our aim is to establish a strong foothold in fashion. At the moment, we are negotiating with other well-known fashion brands too - Finnish as well as international,” Anne Simonen, Leasing Manager, insinuates.
